Woman Stabs Man With Steak Knife, Police Say

The Gulfport Police Department arrested a Pinellas Park woman after she allegedly cut a man in the back of the head with a large steak knife.

When Jessica Ty Fletcher allegedly attacked the male victim, she cut him in the back of the head while he was trying to get out of the residence, according to Pinellas County arrest reports.

The victim received a six inch gash that required 6 to 8 staples to close, police say.

According to reports, on Thursday, July 25, Fletcher was upset that the man went through her purse. She grabbed a large steak knife with a jagged blade and threatened him with it, police say.

The victim attempted to run away and reached for the front door, but he had to unlock the dead bolt, giving Fletcher time to cut him, police say.

Jessica Ty Fletcher, 26, of Pinellas Park, is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and tampering with physical evidence, both felonies. Fletcher posted $15,000 bail and was released from Pinellas County Jail.
