Police: 30-Pound Box of Tile Used as Deadly Weapon

A 33-year-old Gulfport woman is accused of dropping a box of floor tile on a person's head while they were sleeping.

A Gulfport woman is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after she dropped a 30-pound box of tile on a sleeping victim's head, according to Gulfport Police.

Lisa Ann Buttry, 33, came home and found the victim sleeping on the couch, according to Pinellas County arrest records. She then "lifted a box of (beige) floor tile above the victim's head and dropped it," causing a gash to the left side of the victim's head and ear, arrest records say.

Buttry posted $15,000 bail following her arrest on June 21 on the charge of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a felony.

Two days later, she was arrested by Gulfport Police on the charge of violation of pretrial release, a misdemeanor. Bail is set at $1,000. Buttry is awaiting trial in the Pinellas County Jail.
