Gulfport Casino Ballroom Closed
The Gulfport Casino Ballroom is being tented for termites.
Swing Night at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom has been rescheduled, while other lessons are canceled, as the building is about to be tented for termites. The Gulfport Casino Ballroom will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 7 - 9. The last time the ballroom was tented for termites was in 2001, according to Public Works Director Don Sopak. Don Sopak says there has been evidence of active termites over the past two years and the building was spot-treated in different areas. This year, the city negotiated with a company to tent the entire building, because the spot treatments were not working.
