Patch Minute: 'Manuscript,' Swing Dancing, Tennis Festival

Director Ryan James Monroe personally invites new and loyal guests to the shows this weekend in our video interview. Are you ready for the weekend? Well, there's a lot going on staring with Salsa lessons at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom tonight!

Salsa Tonight: From first timers to advanced dancers, everyone is invited to Salsa tonight at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom starting at 6:30 p.m. Lessons are from 6:30 - 8 p.m. with general dancing. 5 Things to Know in Gulfport: Swing Night, Documentary Showing, 'Best of the Road'

Swing Dance Lessons, Live Concert and more at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom tonight! Check out our daily post "5 Things to Know in Gulfport."

Swing Night: "Eight to the Bar" will be performing at tonight's Swing Night at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom! Tickets are $15 for dance lessons and live entertainment. There will be a full cash bar. Organizers say the event is open to all ages and you don't have to have a partner. The Shim Sham Lesson is from 6 - 7, Swing Dance lesson is from 7 - 8 and the live concert begins at 8 p.m. Documentary Showing: Students, school volunteers and staff are invited to the free viewing of "Sharkwater," a documentary, at Boca Ciega High School on Wednesday, April 25 after school. Swinging at the Gulfport Casino

Wednesday nights at the Gulfport Casino gets people dancing the night away to big band sounds.

Every Wednesday night, the Gulfport Casino Ballroom takes a trip back to the era of big bands with their Swing Dance night. Dancers both young and old come out to swing the night away to classic hits. Before the dance starts at 8 p.m., there are two lessons from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. to help those new to the swing scene learn a couple steps to get them started. Tickets for the dance are $7 and students get a buy one, get one deal that allows them to bring a friend for free or come back the next week without paying.
