Video: Suncoast Burlesque Fest Steps it Up

The Second Annual Suncoast Burlesque Festival hosted by Hip Expressions Gala brought "adult-themed performance art" to St. Pete Beach.

The Second Annual Suncoast Burlesque Festival hosted by Hip Expressions had it's gala show at St. Petersburg Nights on Saturday, January 19 at St. Petersburg Nights The show featured nationally famous burlesque acts like Coco Lectric and Madame Onça performing, as well as local burlesque celebrities like Vita DeVoid. "I think of (burlesque) as adult-themed performance art," said Madame Onça. The show featured a gamut of performances, from a black light pole dance, to a vocal performance of "Mambo Italiano". Johanna 'Xenobia' of Hip Expressions is already looking forward to next year. "I already have some ideas," Xenobia said.

Suncoast Burlesque Festival to Grace the Beach

The dance and entertainment begins Thursday night and runs through Sunday evening.

Tampa Bay’s first ever Suncoast Burlesque Festival, showcasing dance, entertainment and stage craft, will hit St. Pete Beach Thursday night. The Accidental Circus will be featured at the festival. The performers play music, juggle and do amazing things with fire in their shows. “Bring your loved ones to dazzle them! Bring your enemies, because anything is possible when 5 knives are in the air...” offers a quote from the group's website.
