BMX Bikers May Now Use City Skate Park
Gulfport now allows BMX bikers to use the city's skate park facilities.
In an effort to keep the Tomlinson Lake Skate Park full of participants, the city of Gulfport recently decided to be bold and give BMX bicycle enthusiasts the chance to use the park's many ramps and obstacles. Previously, bikers using the skate park's facilities was taboo. The use of bikes, however, is limited. Bikes on the skate park's facilities will only be allowed on Sundays. The skate park is open daily from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. "We're trying it out to see if it helps with the kids," said Nicole Latraga of the city's recreation center.
