Boats Burglarized at Marina

Several yachts were broken into at the MarineMax in South Pasadena Thursday.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office is investigating a series of break-ins at the MarineMax Yacht Service Center at 6810 Gulfport Blvd. in South Pasadena. Deedee Moss, the Service Administrator, says five yachts were broken into on Thursday, Jan. 10. It happened between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Moss says that although nothing was stolen, the burglars ransacked the boats, pulled out drawers and caused minor damage to one boat. "They didn't take anything, it's really weird," Moss said. Moss says three fishing poles were taken from one yacht but were left on the dock. "They may have gotten spooked," she said of the suspect or suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office at (727) 582-6200.
