Mink is a two-year-old Sheltie who loves treats, sunbathing and running around the backyard pool.
Mink is the youngest of five dogs at the Fitch household in Gulfport. Deirdre Fitch, Mink's owner, describes her as a calm, loving and playful dog. Fitch entered Mink in our first "Lovable Dog Photo Contest" on Gulfport Patch in December and after receiving 20 votes, Mink was declared the winner and received a goodie bag with a $25 gift card to Petco. Fitch is an active animal lover who's been teaching dog obedience and manners for more than 25 years. When Fitch is not spending time with her family and furry friends, she is teaching classes every Tuesday at the Dog Training Club of St. Pete at 4400B 34th St. N in St. Petersburg. Perhaps we should rename Gulfport's Most Lovable Dog Photo Contest. Judging from the 16 photos uploaded so far, maybe we should call it Gulfport's Most Lovable Dogs and Their Lovable Owners. Many of the photos submitted show dog owners in a state of bliss with their dogs: hugging them, nuzzling them, napping with them.
