Double Murder Suspect Jamaal Jenkins Arrested in Louisiana

Jenkins, 25, wanted for two St. Petersburg killings, was arrested by U.S. Marshals on Friday, authorities said.

Double murder suspect Jamaal Jenkins was arrested Friday afternoon by U.S. Marshals in Louisiana, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office has announced. Jenkins, 25, was wanted on two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Destynee Burkes, of Gulfport, who was shot and killed on Jan. 7, and Tieyannie Hollis, who was shot Jan. 14 in St. Petersburg and died days later.  The sheriff's office had offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. Stolen Cars Driven by Alleged Murder Suspect Recovered

Pinellas deputies believe that two cars driven by alleged murder suspect Jamaal Jenkins, wanted for the shooting deaths of Destynee Burkes and Tieyannie Hollis, were found.

Jan. 7, the night Destynee Burkes was murdered at the 34th Street La Quinta Inn, Burkes came to the motel in a newer model Chrysler 200. A week later, Tieyannie Hollis was shot at the Mariners Pointe Apartments. The suspect drove a green Toyota Camry.  According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, both of those cars were driven by 25-year-old Jamaal Jenkins. Both cars have now been found and Jenkins is still at-large.  Wednesday, Jan. 23, the Chrysler 200 was recovered in Orange County. Detectives said on Jan. 18, they learned the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office had located the green Toyota Camry in a wooded area.  The vehicle had been burned. Police Still Searching for Double Murder Suspect

$50,000 Reward Offered in Double Murder

Sheriff Gualtieri said he believes Jamaal Jenkins is still in St. Petersburg/Pinellas County. Jenkins is considered a serious threat to public safety.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri announced Thursday that the department is offering $50,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Jamaal Jenkins. Jenkins, 25, is wanted on two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Destynee Burkes, who was shot and killed on Jan. 7, and Tieyannie Hollis who was shot Jan. 14 and died days later.  Burkes was shot "execution style" in the back of the head, and Hollis was shot multiple times, including in the head.  Gualtieri said Jenkins has recently been seen driving in a teal, newer model four-door Toyota Camry. Gulfport Woman's Death Linked to Love Triangle

Investigators have launched a manhunt to find the suspect in the shooting death of Destynee Burkes of Gulfport and a second shooting of a man in St. Pete.

Investigators are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect in the shooting death of Detynee Burkes, 24, of Gulfport and the shooting Monday of a St. Petersburg man at an apartment building. In a press conference Tuesday, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office and St. Petersburg Police Department announced that Jamaal Jenkins is the suspect in both incidents. Investigators said that Jenkins, Destynee Burkes and Tieyannie Hollis – the second shooting victim – were involved in a love triangle that turned violent. On Jan. 7, Burkes was found shot to death, execution style, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.
