Gulfport Police arrested a man accused of stealing a bicycle and trying to sell it on Craigslist. According to reports, the man was also arrested on drug charges.
A 19-year-old Gulfport man was arrested April 23 after a woman found her stolen bicycle listed for sale on Craigslist and contacted authorities, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's report. According to the arrest report, the victim told police that Tyler Marquis went into her carport during the night of April 22-23 and cut the cable lock on her $429 bike. The woman later spotted her bicycle for sale on Craigslist for $80 and arranged to meet Marquis to buy the bike, according to reports. She told police that she matched the serial number and determined it was her bike. After Marquis was arrested for the charges of grand theft, dealing in stolen property by use of Internet, burglary and grand theft, officers searched his home. During…

Members of the Boca Ciega Yacht Club welcomed friends, family and neighbors to their annual "Fun Day" event on Saturday, April 27. Dozens of guests recieved free sailboat rides and tours of Boca Ceiga Bay! The Boca Ciega Yacht Club is a place to socialize, sail and learn about sailing. It features adult and youth sailing schools, free use of club boats for members, local sailboat races, social events, weekend cruises and a Sea Scouts Program. If you eat at participating restaurants in Gulfport or (and some others in the Tampa Bay area) a part of the proceeds will go to HIV/AIDS service organizations.
18 Gulfport restaurants are participating in a national campaign to stamp out HIV and AIDS on Thursday, April 25. A portion of the day's proceeds from "Dining Out for Life" go to about 60 service organizations that help men, women and children living with HIV and AIDS.
