Weekend Events: Holiday Hoopla, Collecto-Rama, Boat Parade

We have a busy Saturday ahead of us including the annual Holiday Hoopla, Christmas Collecto-Rama and Boca Ciega Yacht Club Christmas Boat Parade. Here's what you need to know about all three family friendly events.

Saturday Dec. 8 will be packed full of holiday goodness for the entire family. Holiday Hoopla Support small business by shopping local! The Gulfport Merchants association presents the annual Holiday Hoopla! A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit Operation Santa and Gulfport families in need. Come out and find unique gifts from local shops, vendors and artists. The event will also feature holiday characters, live music, glass blowing, children's games and a visit from the big man himself - Santa! Mark your calendars for the following Christmas and holiday events in Gulfport!

Happy Holidays from Gulfport Patch! From the annual Holiday Hoopla festival to the traditional lighting of the City of Gulfport Christmas Tree, there's a lot going on in December. Here's what we have so far! City of Gulfport's Tree Lighting Ceremony Bundle up for an evening of festive music by the Gulfport Recreation division, and join the Mayor, Council and Yvonne Johnson in caroling, a true Gulfport tradition. There will be refreshments and festive cheer as the Mayor lights the tree for another holiday season. He will be looking for a few helpers this year, so kids get ready. Heroes Weekend There are several events kicking off on Thursday, Nov. 8 as part of the second annual Heroes Weekend in Gulfport. Heroes Weekend: What You Need to Know

The second annual Heroes Weekend kicks off tonight with a casino night at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom. Here's what you need to know about all of the weekend events!

Vegas Style Fundraiser The Gulfport Casino Ballroom will turn into a high-stakes gambling casino with Vegas style games including poker, blackjack, roulette, craps, slot machines and Texas hold'em. Enjoy auctions, hors d'oeuvres, a full cash bar and live music. Proceeds benefit the Small Business Mentor Program at the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce and the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center Foundation. Veterans with I.D. cards get an extra $500 in ‘play money’ at the door. Please visit the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce for tickets at 4926 Gulfport Blvd. S. to pick up your advance tickets.
