Gulfport Health & Wellness Expo for All Ages

Everyone is invited to the Gulfport Health & Wellness Expo on Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom.

The Gulfport Health & Wellness Expo will feature free health screenings, presentations, speakers and interactive demonstrations on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom at 5500 Shore Blvd. S. The event is free and open to all ages. Check your health stats with multiple health screenings including balance, stroke, glucose, cholesterol and info on nutrition as well as general health and hospital information. QiGong and Yoga Demonstrations Experience the Virtual Dementia Tour! Guests can also buy fresh and health snack items and enter the raffle to win paintings by local senior artists and gift baskets donated by local businesses. Gulfport Casino Ballroom Closed

The Gulfport Casino Ballroom is being tented for termites.

Swing Night at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom has been rescheduled, while other lessons are canceled, as the building is about to be tented for termites. The Gulfport Casino Ballroom will be closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan.  7 - 9. The last time the ballroom was tented for termites was in 2001, according to Public Works Director Don Sopak. Don Sopak says there has been evidence of active termites over the past two years and the building was spot-treated in different areas. This year, the city negotiated with a company to tent the entire building, because the spot treatments were not working. It's being done at no cost to the city because it is part of an ongoing contract, according to Sopak. The tent was up a short time Monday …

Gamblers didn't have to fly to Las Vegas to hear the chims of slot machines and rolling the dice among a cheering crowd! The Historic Gulfport Casino Ballroom turned into a Vegas-style casino on Thursday, Nov 8 as part of a fundraiser for the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce and Gulfport Senior Center. Roll the Dice at Casino Royale on the Bay Tonight

That's right! There will be Las Vegas style gambling at the Historic Gulfport Casino Ballroom tonight starting at 7:30 tonight.

On Thursday, November 8th, the Gulfport Casino Ballroom will turn into a high-stakes gambling casino with Vegas style games including poker, blackjack, roulette, craps, slot machines and Texas hold'em. Buy ins include $1000 each in "funny money" and can be increased. Enjoy auctions, hors d'oeuvres, a full cash bar and live music. The event begins at 7:30 with doors opening at 7 p.m. The price is $20, $35 a couple in advance and $25 at the door. Proceeds benefit the Small Business Mentor Program at the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce and the Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center Foundation.
