From drunken driving arrests to drug busts and 28 traffic citations, the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office had a busy weekend pulling over impaired drivers.
Sheriff's deputies arrested 12 drunk drivers and issued 28 citations while patrolling Pinellas County this weekend. Patrol deputies targeted reckless or aggressive drivers, or those who may have been under the influence of alcohol. The DUI Wolf Pack operations are conducted monthly, on nights separate from the once-a-month DUI checkpoints. Pinellas County Sheriff's released these results:

A wolf pack patrol arrested seven and issued 19 citations overnight Friday.
Seven people face drunk driving charges in Pinellas County, after deputies led "wolf pack" patrols this past weekend. Deputies arrested the seven for driving under the influence. They also issued 19 citations during the countywide wolf pack patrols Friday night and early Saturday morning. In an effort to combat aggressive driving and other traffic violations, Sheriff Bob Gualtieri said he would send deputies out monthly in wolf packs and use checkpoint enforcement to identify and remove impaired drivers.
