On Saturday night, the ballroom will host a party complete with a live band, prizes and champagne.
Party favors and decoartions will turn the Gulfport Casino Ballroom into a New Year’s Eve celebration station. Workers are already preparing for the huge party on Saturday night. There will be plenty of food and drinks for the masses including chips, sandwiches and a cash bar. Draw a ticket at the door for your chance to win one of the many door prizes that will be handed out throughout the night. Numerous styles of dancing and music were present in Gulfport's bash to finish 2010.
The Gulfport Casino opened its doors New Year's Eve for people young and old to dance and celebrate the passing of 2010. The band Identity Crisis played hits from many different eras and genres. To kick off the night, a nightclub style ballroom dance lesson was given by Carol Baker so everyone would know some moves to dance the night away. In between the dancing, guests were treated to some more elaborate dance presentations of different styles of dance, including a waltz, a pasa doble and a samba. A silent auction was also held throughout the night with proceeds benefitting the new City of Imagination in Gulfport.
