Gulfport Files $3.6 Million Lawsuit Against BP

The law firm representing the City of Gulfport in a $3.6 million claim plans to file a lawsuit against the multinational oil company for lost revenues following the Deep Horizon Oil Spill in 2010.

Due to lingering negative perceptions of the Gulf seafood industry following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, BP will give Pinellas County money to help promote a local seafood festival and an episode of "Emeril's Florida."

Pinellas County is set to receive $500,000 from BP due to the linger effects of the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
