From seaside Santas to glow-in-the-dark palm trees, the holiday glitz of Gulfport's annual Christmas boat parade is captured on a YouTube video. The 16-minute video shows why the yearly Boca Ciega Yacht Club parade is so popular with locals. What a great promotion for the city and quality of life in Gulfport, let alone the temperate weather in December. The parade is open to anyone (with a boat, of course) and welcomes spectators, with a party that follows. The video was originally posted on Svhideaway.blogspot.com.

Happy Holidays from Gulfport Patch! From the annual Holiday Hoopla festival to the traditional lighting of the City of Gulfport Christmas Tree, there's a lot going on in December. Here's what we have so far! City of Gulfport's Tree Lighting Ceremony Bundle up for an evening of festive music by the Gulfport Recreation division, and join the Mayor, Council and Yvonne Johnson in caroling, a true Gulfport tradition. There will be refreshments and festive cheer as the Mayor lights the tree for another holiday season. He will be looking for a few helpers this year, so kids get ready.
