Empty Hats plays at the Blueberry Patch April 13 at 8 p.m. The group has performed at Renaissance Faires and Music Festivals since 2000.
The Blueberry Patch will host its spring festival, Peace Love and Blueberries, March 16, which will include live music, drum circle, food and crafts.

Crews are filming, 'My Big Redneck Vacation,' a reality TV show, in Gulfport.
A popular Gulfport hangout – known around town as the Blueberry Patch – is the location for the latest episode of "My Big Redneck Vacation," according to City Manager Jim O'Reilly. The popular cable TV show airs nationwide on CMT, the Country Music Television channel. Film crews went to the privately owned property, at 4923 20th Ave S., on Sunday. They are expected to wrap up on Tuesday. O'Reilly says the city worked with CMT and the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Film Commission to help bring the reality TV show to Gulfport. The Blueberry Patch actually is the backyard of a privately owned home where locals gather to enjoy live music, original art and some 1960s-style hospitality. Dallas Bohrer, founder of The Blueberry Patch, received the Spirit of Gulfport Award by the Gulfport City Council.
Gulfport Mayor Mike Yakes presented the Spirit of Gulfport Award to Dallas Bohrer Tuesday night. Bohrer is the founder of The Blueberry Patch and was nominated for the award by Vice Mayor Sam Henderson. Henderson thanked Bohrer for his efforts and stated that The Blueberry Patch has been around for 35 years and has been in Gulfport for more than 15 of those years. “The Blueberry Patch is a peace-loving community of artists, writers and musicians. The Blueberry Patch is a location for the freedom of music, art, written word and performance,” Henderson said. Henderson says the patch is a place of personal growth and acceptance. Yes K.R. I agree that some nice shots would have been great. The crew that was in town took several hours of video on our waterfront and downtown. They also enjoyed eating and playing in Gulfport. However, the editing team far away had a different idea to make their show "funnier." Ugh. That said, I've been excitedly watching the internet traffic on several local websites break records.
