The locally shot movie will have a trailer released on Thursday at 7 a.m. and is set for wide release on March 29.
Last year in March, the beaches of Pinellas County were filled celebrities like Selena Gomez, James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson filming 'Spring Breakers'. From cruising down Corey Ave to getting booked into the Gulfport Police Department, the cast of "Spring Breakers" lured fans, onlookers and extras from across Tampa Bay. The film shot in various spots in Gulfport, St. Pete Beach and St. Petersburg. In a few months, you'll be able to go and see all the local areas on the big screen. 'Spring Breakers' has been set for wide release on March 29, almost a year after they finished filming in Tampa Bay. Patch has photos and video of Selena Gomez and her co-stars of 'Spring Breakers,' as they hopped on some scooters for a scene shot on Corey Avenue.
Corey Avenue was packed full of people looking to catch of glimpse of Selena Gomez and the other stars of 'Spring Breakers' yesterday afternoon. Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Benson were shooting a scene of the upcoming film, and people were allowed to look on while the filming occured. Extras filled the street, and the shot consisted of the actors riding scooters down Corey Avenue and screaming out "Spring Break!" Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and other young stars are on St. Pete Beach today filming "Spring Breakers," a movie about college students who unwittingly get involved with gangsters. Filming has been taking place today on Corey Avenue on St. Pete Beach. It is scheduled to continue until 3 a.m.

It seems as though Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Vanessa Hudgens are already enjoying their time working on the set of the new film, "Spring Breakers." Benson posted a picture to Instagram of herself, Gomez and Hudgens with the caption "Love Them." One can almost hear their young fans give a collective, "Ahhh!" Even though filming has just begun in Sarasota, Gomez has found time to grab some sun. She posted an image of herself sunbathing to her Instagram earlier today. Rumor has it that Gomez is staying at a private posh home in St. Pete, and she has been seen in the city. She will be filming beach scenes on the Pinellas Beaches, of course.
