Video: Gulfport Mayor Fights Cancer at Relay for Life

The annual Relay for Life of Gulfport raised more than $9,000 this year. Watch our video to find out what the annual event means to Gulfport Mayor Mike Yakes.

Survivors, caregivers, friends and family members came together to celebrate, remember and fight back at the annual Relay for Life on Gulfport event this past weekend.

At least 130 people participated in the annual fundaiser at the Gulfport Recreation Center.

13 teams camped out overnight and walked on the track non-stop from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning in their efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society. This year volunteers raised more than $9,000.
