The open mic night was a successful, fun event for all ages, so much so that Tangelo's has expressed an interest in having an open mic night once a month just for jollies. How awesome is that. I'll be there and hope many of you will too. We will keep you posted as to dates and time.

I want to say a special thank you to Lisa and Mike, the owners of Tangelo's, for making tonight's evening possible. There were some impressive youth who read and sang at the mic. Wow!

Something else great happened tonight. Community Leverage Learning, that's the nonprof we will be filing as the umbrella foundation that organizes these community sponsored workshops, met an accountant at the event who agreed to serve on our nonprof advisory board under the heading of financial wiz. An accountant was on our wish list, and then there she was, having dinner in a show of support.

Sam Henderson joined us and read three fabulous poems at the mic.

Our very own Cathy Salustri showed up and talked about nanowrimo.org and her up and coming book about driving through the back roads of Florida. She also offered to do a presentation for the kids on the journalistic style of writing, an important aspect of well rounded writing skills. Cathy is speaking in Largo this month, so if anybody can, they should scoot over and catch her presentation. Contact her at the Gabber for more information.

So a good night ends productively and moves us one step closer to the dream. Thank you, too, to everyone who turned out this evening. We will be having another event December 5th at Neptune between the hours of 5 and 9. Stay tuned. We will keep you posted on progress and save-the-dates and times.
