The Village Hearth and Heart

Restaurant Review of Stella's

Breakfast houses are a class in and of themselves. They support the early risers, the mid morning wanderers, and the late comers. From 7 or so, give or take, here or there, eggs are broken and bacon fried. Humans have, from the beginning of their time, come together around flickering flames of roasting wild game, for belonging and warmth. Matriarchs the world wide, have provided for, supported and nurtured their generations in the glow of the communal fire. Everyone contributes and the food is shared freely with the village news. Welcomes are offered up by all to all, whether a familiar old codger or a new face.
Stella's on Beach Boulevard in Gulfport, Florida is a fine example, both literally and figuratively, of the village hearth. There's something in the fridge to please most fancies. Gourmet omelets, baked-fresh quiche, and fried green tomatoes are just a few of their fabulous foods. Many of their recipes were handed down from Barbara's Aunt Stella, a much loved, nurturing Matriarch and Nun that could cook up a feast. I personally would like to give a shout out to everyone there; based on our Stella's, I would have loved it around Aunt Stella's kitchen table. "Could I have hashbrowns with those eggs, please."
