After two years, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon in St. Petersburg is canceled, according to an announcement posted by race organizers.

The race was scheduled to take place Feb. 9, 2014 in downtown St. Petersburg.

"After a careful evaluation, we have made the difficult business decision to cancel the 2014 Rock ‘n’ Roll St. Pete Half Marathon," a news release said.

Organizers said they will now just focus on running the Women’s Running Half Marathon and the TriRock Clearwater Triathlon.

"We thank our local partners, including the St. Petersburg Clearwater Sports Commission and the City of St. Petersburg, for all the hard work that has been accomplished over the past two years," organizers said. "St. Pete is a tremendous destination with an active endurance community, and we look forward to growing those two world-class events in the future."

If you already registered for the 2014 Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon you can get a full refund or transfer your registration fees to other Rock 'n' Roll half marathon races.

In 2012 and 2013 the headlining musical acts for the event were Flo Rida and Sean Kingston.
