$1.4 Million: Most Expensive Gulfport Home Sale in April

The buyers of the waterfront Gulfport estate actually may have gotten a deal when they paid out a cool $1.4 million for this mansion in April. Here's why.

Gulfport, Florida, is best known for its small-town appeal, with middle-class homes just a short walking distance to the beach and waterfront.

But this coastal city also boasts some high-end estates, hidden by lush foliage and a gated entrance from the rest of the city.

Take a peek at this Pasadena Yacht and Country Club estate that just sold for $1.4 million – the most expensive home sale in April 2013 in Gulfport, Florida, according to the Zillow search engine.

But the sales price for this five bedroom, five-bath home, built in 2000, is less than the original asking price and a previous sales price. (More on that later.) Let's first take a look inside.

Here's what $1.4 million buys: 4,674-square-foot home with gourmet kitchen, master bedroom suite, elevator, four car garage, large family room, fireplace, media room, ground floor game room off landscaped pool area, protected water with boat lift and jet ski lifts.

Zillow predicts that this property will rise in value by more than 4 percent in 2013.

But that has not been the case in the recent past. Just five years ago, in 2008, the home sold for $1.9 million.

By 2010, the owner put the home up for sale but could not get the price paid in 2008.

The home has been listed, taken off the market and then relisted since then, as the price slowly dropped to the $1.4 million sales price in April 2013.

Do you think the home is worth that steep price? Take a look at the photos. Let us know in the comments below.
