Share Your Suggestions For Pinellas County Budget Cuts

Citizens are encouraged to share ideas, concerns and opinions about the county budget at information sessions on Thursday, May 10 and Tuesday, May 15. Pinellas County is currently facing a nearly $12 million dollar shortfall for fiscal year 2013.

Pinellas County Commissioners are asking citizens to weigh in on ways to cut $11.9 million dollars from the general fund budget. Officials want people to share their views, values and vision for the community at one of two upcoming information sessions:

County officials currently predict an $11.9 million shortfall for fiscal year 2013. An additional $10.7 million shortfall is projected for FY 2014. The new fiscal year begins on Oct. 1, 2012.
