Mayoral Candidates Vie for Your Votes

On Tuesday, March 12, voters will head to the polls and choose between Sam Henderson and Bob Worthington for Gulfport Mayor.

After 27 years of serving the City of Gulfport, Mayor Mike Yakes is retiring following the next city elections. The city will honor Yakes for his service with a dedication and renaming of the Gulfport Rec Center.

Everyone is invited to the dedication on February 23, at 10 a.m. for The Michael J. Yakes Recreation Complex at 5730 Shore Blvd. S. Watch our video to hear from Mayor Yakes about his decision to retire.

How sad, there is not much of a choice here, a guy who needs to clean up his act as in shave the beard off and wear something nicer, you look like a street person then there is the old guy who should be in a nursing home... gee there goes Gulfport..... still down the tubes..... you know what I am talking about.... the mayor now and along with the counsel members won't support our Police Department as in giving more funding, then there is the important issue about the freeloaders in the bay living for free and dumping waste. Will the new Dobie Gillis candidate or the Mr.Burns candidate do anything about these two very important issues?
