Dan Liedtke, Jennifer Salmon to Be Sworn In Tonight

Dan Liedtke and incumbent Jennifer Salmon will take the Oath of Office tonight at 7 at the Catherine Hickman Theater.

 Jennifer Salmon will begin her second term on the Gulfport City Council, and newcomer Dan Liedtke starts his first term of office Tuesday night.

Salmon and Liedtke will take the Oath of Office tonight at 7 at the Catherine Hickman Theater during the regular City Council meeting. Also on the agenda is discussion and consideration of a Vice Mayor.

Remember, since the meeting is being held in the Catherine Hickman Theater, it will not broadcast live on Gulfport Channel 615 or online. Officials will record the entire meeting and post the video online the day after the meeting.

Incumbent Jennifer Salmon won the Ward 3 Council seat with 1,084 votes to challenger James Perry's 695 on Tuesday, March 13.

Challenger Dan Liedtke won the Ward 1 Council seat with 938 votes to incumbent David Hastings' 929. Because the difference was just nine votes, the Pinellas County Canvassing Board conducted a mandatory recount on Wednesday, March 14. The recount showed no change in the Ward 1 race.
