Was That Gunfire? Don't Let Drills Surprise You

School resource officers will receive 'active shooter training' at Osceoloa Middle School. Gulfport officers will participate in the drills.

School resource officers in Pinellas County will receive "active shooter training" on Wednesday.

The training will include the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, and the Largo and Gulfport police departments. It will be held at Osceola Middle School, 9301 98th St N., from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

During the training, law enforcement personnel will discuss shooting incidents that have occurred all over the country, then actually conduct live scenarios on school grounds.

The public and residents in the area should not be alarmed by the law enforcement presence at the middle school during this time.
