String of Car Burglaries Over the Holidays

There were 15 car burglaries in Gulfport last month with nine of them happening just a few days before and after the Christmas holiday.

A string of vehicle burglaries is prompting authorities to remind people to lock all windows and doors and put personal items out of sight.

15 vehicles were burglarized between December 11 and 30 with nine burglaries happening between Dec. 20 and 29.

Officials with the Gulfport Police Department say 13 reports of entry were through an unlocked window or door. Nine burgalries happened overnight.

In all but one case the burglar or burglars took small easy to carry items such as wallets, purses, phones, laptops, etc.

Officials say the crimes happened all over the city - see attached map provided by Gulfport Police.
