Child Molestation Charges Filed Against Gulfport Man
A Gulfport man is in Pinellas County jail, accused of sexual battery involving two children under the age of 12.
A 34-year-old Gulfport man faces charges of sexual battery involving two victims under the age of 12.
Freddie Lee McRae was booked into the Pinellas County Jail, after Gulfport Police detectives, with assistance from the state Attorney General's Office, investigated allegations involving two children.
According to police, the charges date back to 2008. One of the victims allegedly was molested by McRae in July 2011.
In the course of the investigation into that incident, police learned about a second victim. The second incident allegedly occurred in November 2008.
Although McRae refused to speak to the police about allegations, cooperation between Gulfport Police Detectives and the State Attorney's Office resulted in charges being filed, according to Gulfport Police.
Due to the ages of the victim's and the nature of the charges, the children's names are being withheld.
