There are more than 1 million people who are licensed to pack heat in the state of Florida. How does Pinellas County compare?

As the nation debates whether Florida resident George Zimmerman should lose his permit to carry a gun, here's a look at the Top 12 Florida counties by number of licenses to carry concealed weapons. 

  • Pinellas is No. 7
  • Hillsborough is No. 4
  • And No. 1? That's no surprise: Miami-Dade.

There are a total of 1.1 million people in Florida licensed to carry concealed weapons by the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. 

Here is the list of the Top 12 Florida counties by number of license holders for concealed weapons/firearms.

2.) Florida County:
