Announced Water Rate Increases

Although Gulfport government has (apparently) little control over water rates, there is one anomaly in the City's water rates structure that deserves a second look.  I am referring to the sewer water charge that seasonal residents currently are required to pay when they are away and their water is turned off.  Surely the sewer water charge is only appropriate when the homeowners water is turned on and yet the City of Gulfport has chosen to continue to extract this excessive fee from seasonal residents (many of whom are seniors).  Shame, shame Gulfport.
