Open the Ocean Portal - A Life Underwater

I will blog twice a week about the life beneath the sea level; about the shipwrecks, fishes, corals and legends, about our dive community and dive shop.

My name is Anette Monroe, owner of the new Dive Shop in Gulfport, Gulfport Dive Center. I have been diving for almost 5 years now, and what started as me being terrified of diving developed into an entire lifestyle.

I am soon to be a Dive Guide, which is the 4th level in the dive advancement, and my favorite thing to do underwater is take pictures of the world of wonders I see. We are so lucky to live so close to great dives, here in the Gulf of Mexico with it's artificial reefs, shipwrecks and plentiness of fish. It is also just a 5 hour drive to the world’s third largest reef, the reef off shore the Florida Keys!

I will write on my blog about the life underwater on Mondays, meaning historic ship wrecks off shore Florida’s west coast, south Florida and in the Keys, about legends connected to our sea, about the different fishes and corals that can be seen in our area.

I will also blog on Fridays about the Lifestyle; what is going on in our dive shop, in our dive and snorkeling community, in our own dive lives, and what we can and will do to make our reefs clean and safe for all of us.
