Free Oral Cancer and PSA Screening

The City of Gulfport, in conjunction with the Oral Cancer Foundation, Moffitt Cancer Center and Walgreens, will be hosting a free Oral Cancer and PSA Screening on Saturday, April 28, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Walgreen’s parking lot on the corner of 58th St. S. and Gulfport Blvd. S. in Gulfport. People will register for the screening at the day of the event.  David Hastings continues to volunteer organizing this event and has also added a simple prostate (PSA) blood test.

The key to reducing the death rate of oral cancer is earlier detection, and the key to that is for all adults to receive opportunistic oral cancer examinations at least once a year.  Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) is a protein produced by cells of the prostate gland. The PSA test measures the level of PSA in the blood. If you feel you are a candidate, don’t miss this free opportunity.  It might just save your life.
