We took a drive down Gulf Beach Blvd just to see how the hurricane parties and preparation were going.
On Madeira Beach sand Bags were being filed by local residents. The motel and hotel parking lots were generally empty and traffic was light. Crowds at John's Pass were small.
On down to Treasure Island, things were slow at Ricky T's and Sloppy Joe's; parking lots were generally empty.
Sunset Beach was another story. The local beach crowd had the party going full stride at the beach-side picnic tables. Caddy's had a nice crowd, and Katki was slam-full of hurricane revelers enjoying live music.
On down to St. Pete Beach, Undertow was slow, and the Hurricane was only open on the first level; the beach side Snack Shack was locked up tight. The Brass Monkey was busy with a lively crowd.
What we didn't find were Republican delegates. I guess the trickle down thing didn't get to the Pinellas beaches.
Attached is a photo essay of our trip. Hope you enjoy it.
