Sixth Annual Gecko Pub Crawl
The Sixth Annual Gecko Pub Crawl will be the first of three events kicking off this year’s “Gecko Season” in Gulfport. The Pub Crawl will be held Saturday, August 10th, 5 to 9 p.m. The Fifth Annual Gecko Ball on August 24th and the 13th Annual Gecko Fest street festival on August 31st round out the growing slate of Gecko fun for the season, celebrating Gulfport’s favorite reptile!
This year, pub crawlers will be able to enjoy a beverage at six Gulfport locations for one $20 ticket. Participating businesses this year are Cousin’s Pizza, J’s, Neptune Grill, O’Maddy’s, Salty’s and T & Me Tea Co, all located within easy walking distance in the Gulfport Waterfront Arts District. Drink offerings vary at each venue and no substitutions will be available. An After Party will be held at J’s from 9 to 10 p.m. and will feature drawings for prizes donated by local restaurants, inns and other businesses.
New this year: a Poker Run featuring a game of five-card stud will add to the evening’s festivities. Crawlers will be dealt a free card from a Crawl Ambassador at each participating location and each card will be recorded on the Crawl ticket. Up to three extra cards may also be purchased for $5 each at J’s when checking in with the ticket prior to the 9:15 deadline. The grand prize will be a two-night stay at the Sirata Beach Resort, awarded to the crawler with best Poker hand. In the event of a tie, a high card draw will determine the grand prize winner. The Poker Run award and prize drawings will be held at 9:30 p.m. Participants must be present to win.

Tickets are available in advance at these Gulfport businesses: Beach Bazaar, Domain Home Accessories & Gallery, and Couture’d. Tickets will also be available during the hours of the
Pub Crawl at each participating location. Only cash or checks will be accepted for ticket sales.

The Gecko Pub Crawl, the Gecko Ball and Gecko Fest are all sponsored by the Gulfport Merchants Association. A portion of proceeds from all events will benefit the creation and installation of additional public art in the Gulfport Waterfront District, as well as the donation of equipment to Gulfport Little League and supplies for the Gulfport Senior Center Pantry.
