Retirement Party: Everyone is invited to the Gulfport Senior Center on Friday at 10 a.m. for a retirement party for Senior Center Supervisor Sue Frank. Frank has been with the center for more than 20 years and will be retiring this week. Gail Biron, Technical Events Specialist for the City of Gulfport, will be the new Senior Center Supervisor. City-Wide Yard Sale: The next Permit-Free City-Wide Yard sale is on Saturday, Nov. 3. The registration form is available on the City of Gulfport's website. If you want your yard sale to make it in the map brochure, fill out the attached form and turn it into the Gulfport Public Library or Gulfport City Hall by Friday, Oct. 26. Attention Young Writers! The "In Your Own Words" Gulfport Youth Book Writing Contest opens on Saturday, Oct. 6. The deadline is on Nov. 10th. Throughout the month of October and early November there will be workshops for all ages every Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Gulfport Library hosted by the pros; refreshments will be served.
