5 Things to Know in Gulfport: Celebrate Flag Day at Veterans Park

Everyone is invited to a Flag Day Celebration at Veterans Park today at 10 a.m. That and much more in "5 Things to Know Today."

Flag Day: Mark your calendars for the City of Gulfport's Flag Day Celebration on Thursday, June 14 at 10 a.m. at Veterans Park on the corner of 54th St. S. and Shore Blvd. S. The event is free and open to the public. For more information call (727) 893-1118.

Free Lunch for Children: The Gulfport Recreation Center, 5730 Shore Blvd. S., is one of several sites offering free meals for children 18 and under. Meals will be served between June 12 and August 7 with lunch between 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and a snack between 4 - 5 p.m. For more information call 893-1068. Gibbs High School is the nearest location offering meals to the public. Gibbs High School, 850 34th St S, St. Petersburg, will be providing free meals Monday through Thursday and will be open to the public between June 13 and June 28. Teen Council Meeting: There is a Gulfport Teen Council meeting tonight at 4:45 p.m. at Gulfport City Hall. The Teen Council is open to teens between 13 and 19. For more information about the council or to join, check out the Gulfport Recreation Center's website.

Register Your Bike: If you live in the City of Gulfport you can register your bicycle for just a quarter! Yep, .24 cents is all it will cost to register your bike with the Gulfport Police Department. Just stop by Monday - Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
