5 Things to Know This Weekend: Veterans Parade, Volleyball Benefit, Steel Horse

The second annual Heroes Weekend is here! What are you going to this weekend?

Veterans Parade: Line up along Beach Boulevard by 4 p.m. today to see the second annual Veterans Day Parade! There will be dozens of floats including Engine 17 with the Gulfport Fire Department and The American Legion Andy Anderson Post 125.

Volleyball Benefit: The VETSports vs. Gulfport Police and Gulfport Fire Inaugural Beach Volleyball Benefit is Sunday at 1 p.m. at the volleyball courts at Gulfport Beach! The benefit will help raise money for the Tampa family of fallen soldier Major David Taylor and Wounded Veterans of VETSports.

Human Chain: Between 250 and 350 are needed! Immediately following the volleyball matches, an aerial photo will be taken of the human-chain spelling of GULFPORT, FL on the beach. Please come out and joint he chain!

Steel Horse: The American Legion Post 125 is hosting a dance on Sunday evening, November 11, to celebrate Veteran's Day at the Casino with live band, Steel Horse. Guests can buy advanced tickets at the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce or The American Legion Post 125. Tickets are $10. The event starts at 7 p.m.

Weekend Forecast: Saturday it'll be mostly sunny with a high near 77. Tonight, partly cloudy with a low around 65. On Veterans Day, it'll be mostly sunny with a high near 80. Sunday night, mostly clear with a low around 67.
