5 Things to Know This Weekend: Kid's Fun Day, Oktoberfest, Gulfport Museum

Here's what you need to know this weekend!

Kid's Fun Day: Bring the kids! Come out to a fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 20 at Salty Sal's from 5 - 9 p.m. The event will feature games, prizes, raffles and plenty of food. The event will help raise money to buy Emergent Reader Books for Gulfport Elementary School and the Gulfport Public Library. Book Contest Workshop: There is a workshop today from 1 - 3 p.m. at the Gulfport Public Library for youth writers wishing to enter in the district-wide writing contest, "In Our Own Words." Come out and talk to editors about how to edit your work. Food and beverages will be provided by local restaurants.

Oktoberfest: Stop by Most Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church Saturday or Sunday for their annual festival. There will be food, music, rides, raffles and more on Saturday from 1 - 11 p.m. and Sunday from 1 - 8 p.m.

Gulfport Museum: Stop by the Gulfport Historical Museum today! There are new fall exhibits and it's free. The museum is open today from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. For more information check out our photos of the new displays in our gallery, "Fall Exhibits at the Museum."
