Gulfport Fresh Market: Who likes fresh bread? How about homemade candy? Or locally grown fruits and vegetables? All of the above are available at the weekly Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market. The market features dozens of vendors along Beach Boulevard from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. every Tuesday. Learn more about the event by "liking" Gulfport Tuesday Fresh Market on Facebook.

Patch Food Drive: While you're in town, drop off canned goods and other non-perishable items at one of several local businesses with drop off boxes for the Patch Food Drive. All 19 Patch sites are hoping to collect a ton of food for Feeding America Tampa Bay. We'll be collecting donations on May 1st and May 31st. Please drop off donations at:

Gulfport Police Accreditation: The Gulfport Police Department is hosting an on-site assessment team today as part of their efforts to maintain accredited status. The general public are invited to offer comments to the assessment team. Comments must be in writing and must address the agency's ability to comply with CFA standards. Please email the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA) at info@flaccreditation.org or mail to P.O. Box 1489, Tallahassee, Florida 32302. Free Cancer Screenings: Mark your calendars for the annual Free Oral Cancer Screening this Saturday, April 28 from 10 - 2 p.m. in the Walgreens parking lot, 5701 Gulfport Blvd. S. New this year, organizers have added a free PSA Screening. The PSA test measures the level of PSA in the blood. David Hastings, a cancer survivor and Senior Patient Advocate of the Oral Cancer Foundation, continues to volunteer organizing this event.
