City Council Tonight: There is a Gulfport City Council meeting at 7 p.m. at Gulfport City Hall. The meeting includes several ordinances and resolutions including adopting the Pinellas County ordinance language regarding the city's outdoor burning ordinance and authorizing the use of contraband forfeiture funds for updated uniforms, badges and ID equipment for the Gulfport Police Department. PACE: The company Ygrene will give a presentation to the Gulfport City Council tonight about providing third party administration services to the city for the Commercial Property Assessment Clean Energy (PACE) Program. The presentation will be at 5 p.m. (before the regular meeting) during a special workshop at Gulfport City Hall. That's the only item on the agenda.
Background on PACE: The Gulfport City Council passed a PACE Ordinance, in February 2011, that applies only to commercial businesses. Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) offers loans to business owners specifically for upgrades and retrofits that improve the property value and cut energy costs. the contract submitted by District Management Services "died" for lack of a second motion when no one second Councilor Sam Henderson's motion to vote on the bid.
CRC Agency Meeting: The Community Redevelopment Agency meeting begins immediately following the Gulfport City Council meeting tonight at city hall. There is only one item on the agenda; a resolution to authorize permits for outdoor sales or displays, for businesses and vendors, including outdoor entertainment, within the Waterfront Redevelopment District.
