5 Things to Know in Gulfport: Business Owners to Receive Free Advice

A new program will provide free advice and counseling for new business owners and potential business owners at the Gulfport Public Library starting next week. That and more in "5 Things to Know Today."

Free Advice for Business Owners: The Gulfport Public Library is joining the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce and SCORE to help provide face to face counseling for small business owners and potential business owners. SCORE will hold hourly appointments on the fourth Tuesday of each month starting on October 23. If you're interested in participating contact the Gulfport Public Library at (727) 893-1074.

Join the Chamber: Learn more about the Gulfport Area Chamber of Commerce by visiting their newly designed website. Their website includes a business directory, visitors information and relocation resources.

Haunted Houses: You don't have to go far to get spooked! There are two haunted houses on the 5600 block of Newton Avenue. The Sanitarium and Midway will be open tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. Both haunted houses will be open again on Oct. 26 and 27. Organizers ask for a $2 donation per house for local organizations including the Fire Explorers Post 945.

Haunted Trail: Mark your calendars for the Hull Street Haunted Trail on Wednesday, Oct. 31. The haunted trail is at 800 Hull St. from 7 - 9 p.m. on Halloween. You're asked to bring a canned good item or small donation.

Friday Forecast: It's going to be mostly sunny with a high near 83. Tonight, expect a 20 percent chance of showers with a low around 72.
