Mangia Gourmet Sets Soft Opening in Gulfport

The Mangia Gourmet Local Market & Deli will welcome customers to their new market/deli location in Gulfport during the next Third Saturday Art Walk.

Soon, Mangia Gourmet's loyal customers will be able to order their favorite dishes almost any day of the week.

The popular Fresh Market vendor announced plans to open a deli and market location on Beach Boulevard in May. After months of renovations at 2930 Beach Boulevard, owners are inviting customers to a soft opening during this month's Third Saturday Art Walk.

According to their Facebook page, Mangia Gourmet Local Market & Deli will open at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 17 and stay open through the Art Walk, which runs from 6 - 10 p.m.

The founder, Jill Johnson, has spent two years serving up fresh meals to go like quinoa salad, garlic dill chicken salad and other top sellers such as their flavored hummus. They're known for delicious vegan and gluten free meals and baked goods as well.

"The stars are aligned," Johnson exclaimed during a previous interview with Patch.

The spot, formally known as Paco's Tacos, features a courtyard and outdoor seating.

Johnson looked at that exact location a year ago but says it just wasn't possible — yet. Now, she has a new partner, Scott Linde, and a plan to bring her popular "to-go meals" to Gulfport full time.
