Horse & Jockey Galloping Toward Grand Re-Opening After Fire

Horse & Jockey's loyal customers are excited about the grand re-opening of the South Pasadena restaurant and pub.

Horse & Jockey – which has been closed due to a fire – finally has an opening date.

The restaurant announced on the Horse & Jockey's Facebook page that it will re-open on Aug. 27 – a little more than a month away. A grand re-opening party already is in the works!

"Yay!! Will have to have a pint to celebrate!" proclaimed Pamela Eubanks on Facebook.

"Hip hip hooray!!!! Cannot wait..... Great News!!!!!" crooned Debbie Croy.

Added Russ Shirley: "It's been a loooooong wait."

In March, the restaurant/pub had to close after its kitchen burned down. The fire broke out just one day before the restaurant's big St. Patrick's Day celebration.

Patch covered the community response to the fire, with offers to help and donations of supplies.

Owner Lea Doyle told Patch at the time:

"There's nothing to cry about. We're going to have a huge reopening party." Stay tuned for details.

The Horse & Jockey is a local institution and has been serving customers in South Pasadena for 26 years.
