Horse & Jockey Celebrates Opening After Fire

The Horse & Jockey British Pub in South Pasadena is open for business.

Loyal patrons will finally be able to satisfy their tastebuds with authentic fish and chips at The Horse & Jockey British Pub on Saturday.

More than six months after a kitchen fire gutted the South Pasadena pub, the kitchen will re-open with a full menu on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.

The Horse & Jockey British Pub has been part of the community for 26 years and for the first time since Lea Doyle became the new owner in 2008, guests had to celebrate St. Patrick's Day someone else this year. The fire broke out just one day before one of the restaurant's biggest days of the year.

Patch covered the community response to the fire, with offers to help and donations of supplies. Doyle told Patch the help was "unbelievable."

The Horse & Jockey British Pub is located at 1155 Pasadena Ave in South Pasadena. Be sure to "like" them on Facebook for updates!
