Sunday Sunset: A View for Visitors

We want to see your photos! We know we live in paradise and part of that is enjoying a beautiful sunset everyday. Starting today, we want you to send in your sunset photos from around the area and every Sunday, we'll share it on Gulfport Patch.

Welcome to your Sunday Sunset, a weekly photo feature that reminds us to take a moment and appreciate what it means to live in Gulfport.

Patch reader Rob Fowler uploaded this photo in our "Gulfport Pics & Clips" gallery!

The caption reads:

"Seagulls love to fly in the sunset over Boca Ciega Bay in Gulfport, Florida. This shot was taken on December 5th, 2012 after a day with temperatures in the 80's. My mom and cousin are visiting from Michigan and definitely enjoying the Florida weather and scenery!"

This photo was also chosen as the feature photo in a "Good Morning, Gulfport!" post this week!

Thanks for sharing, Rob.

If you would like to submit a photo for our next "Sunday Sunset", email it to the editor at cherlene.willis@patch.com or upload it in our gallery, "Gulfport Pics & Clips."

This may have not been a typical December week in Gulfport with daily highs in the 80s and lots of bright sunshine, but it is not far from typical. My mom and cousin left St Pete/Clearwater Airport around 3:30 pm or today with new suntans, cool gifts and souvenirs for family up north, and flip-flips on their still sandy feet. They called about 7:00 pm after safely landing in Michigan with freezing rain and cold temperatures up there. I have a hunch that the flights heading south to Florida were more crowded that the flights heading north...
