BEACH VOLLEYBALL SUMMER CLINICS

The City of Gulfport presents BeVolley Academy at the Gulfport Volleyball Courts at Gulfport Beach. There will be several volleyball clinics in August and September for adults and teens. Pro Beach Players Paula Roca and Raquel Ferreira will train with participants. Also - there will be a free clinic on August 7 for juniors from 5 - 6 p.m. and adults from 6 - 7:30 p.m. For more information call BeVolley Academy at (727) 495-6696.

‘SHARKNADO’ ON BIG SCREEN

Heard the buzz about “Sharknado” but haven’t experienced it yet in all its ridiculous glory yet? Or just can’t wait for “Sharknado 2” to hit the SyFy channel next year? You’re in luck: The made-for-TV, so-bad-it’s-good, sci-fi extravaganza is coming to theaters for a one-night-only screening at midnight Friday, Aug. 2.  Catch a nearby screening at  Citrus Park Stadium 20 (7999 Citrus Park Town Center Mall, Tampa), Park Place Stadium 16 (7200 U.S. 19 N, Pinellas Park) and Hollywood Stadium 20 (1993 Main St., Sarasota).
