Patch Minute: Pirate Days, Art Tour, Country Music

Looking for something to do this weekend? We've got a list of local events including the John Levique Pirate Days, SoStudio Art Tour and Country music concert in downtown St. Pete.

We have a wrap up of some awesome events in Gulfport, St. Pete and the beaches this weekend.

The Beaches

Who likes pirates, treasure hunts and sword fights? If you answered yes to all three, you'll want to stop by the annualat John's Pass in Madiera Beach.

Get out your pirate hats, eye patches and talking parrots and come out Friday though Sunday for a pub crawl, pirate ball and costume contest.

The event commemorates the discovery of John’s Pass by John Levique after the hurricane of September 1848. For the full experience, you can buy a pass for $100 that includes entry into the Pirate Ball on Friday, Pirate Pub Crawl on Saturday and a tour of the boat invasion. Gulfport

If it's a smaller gathering you're looking for, stop by the SoStudio Art Tour this Saturday in Gulfport. For just $10, you'll receive drinks and light hor'derves and tour 19 local art studios. You'll be able to admire blown glass, paintings, sculptures and more. Just get your wristband and start the tour between 3 and 8 p.m. on Saturday. Begin the tour at one of the following locations:

  • The Longhouse, 2309 49th St. S.
  • The Gulfport Neighborhood Center, 1617 49th St. S.
  • Gulport Arts Center, 2627 54th St. S.

St. Pete

If you're looking for live entertainment, stop by The Mahaffey in downtown St. Pete to see Vince Gill in concert. The modern country music star has won 20 Grammy awards and recently received his 41st Grammy nomination. If you want to catch him in concert, get your tickets now for the Sunday performance. Tickets start at $35.
