Nesting Season: Watch Out for Black Skimmers on Beach

Black Skimmer bird nesting season is now through August 31 on the beaches. 

Sections of the St. Pete Beach and other Gulf beaches are roped off to protect the birds and their eggs. 

According to authorities, harassing the birds, the eggs or their young is punishable for up to 60 days in prison.
