Patch Minute: Grand Funk Railroad, Art Walk, Beach Yoga

From a 1970s rock band to a performance filled with 1950s classic hits, there's plenty to entertain music lovers of all generations this weekend.

We have music-filled performances for all ages in this week's Patch Minute!

Downtown St. Pete

We're starting off this week in downtown St. Petersburg. The Mahaffey Theater has a lot coming up including Grand Funk Railroad and Chris Isaak this weekend. Next week, we'll see the Go-Gos on stage as well. Tickets are on sale now for Grand Funk Railroad at 8 p.m. on Saturday night. Tickets range from $30 to $50. The 1970's rock group is celebrating more than 40 years together. Both old and new fans are encouraged to come out.

Then, on Sunday, the theater welcomes Chris Isaak at 7 p.m. Tickets are from $39.50 to $75.50. Isaak's new album features remakes of the classics from the 1950s.

Gulfport welcomes everyone to the Third Saturday Art Walk. Remember, there will be dozens of vendors set up on Beach Boulevard and this Saturday, there will be a showing of the The short film was shot in Gulfport and entered in the 48-hour film project in July. Now, the public is invited to see what locals produced. That's at 8 p.m. in the Art Village Courtyard.

Pinellas Beaches

Looking to add something new to your workout? How about yoga on the beach? Beach Yoga Pinellas offers classes on Redington Shores, Madeira Beach, Indian Rocks Beach and Treasure Island. Classes start at $12 per person. All of them are at 9:30 a.m. daily. Beginning students and experienced yogis welcome. Also, no need for a yoga mat, just bring your beach towel!
